I purchased a Wacom Pen Tablet in the fall of 2016; a game changer. I now draw and paint digitally, with no mess, no smell, no cleanup, no need for all the trappings of a dedicated studio space. A room with a table, a computer, and a printer and I am in business. This, for me, is a perfect world.!!!

Today, 1:57 PM 7/29/2019, as I revisit this set of images, some of them are under developed. Some of them seem to be finished according to my loose definition of "finished". In real time I don't consider any of my final images as finished. I often revisit an image and if I see a way to make a change, I make the change. Nice thing about making digital images, I save to disk every image at every stage as separate digital files. Dating an image can become difficult. A final image today could have been a final image weeks, months or years ago.

Image #86 is dated January 2018 -- technically this page should read as 2016-2017. So I am relabeling it as such.

Also this set of images marks a return to using the human figure in an environment. I closed my last figure drawing and painting project in 1974. I never meant to stay away from this work for 45 years! I closed the project because I found painting realism was painfully slow. I am impatient and lazy. Much easier to paint abstracts. Throwing paint can be fun and it can be done in an instant. Thus I point back to my opening paragraph.

03-05:--Main image from video still found on internet, plus found image of palm trees; mucho digital drawing and other software manipulations.
06-08:--Composite 5 found jpegs from internet plus digital drawing.
09-13:--Theme from a competition; "Nude in Art".
14:------"Towing the Line" = political comment on business persons.
15-19:--Composite 7 jpegs. They were sliced, diced, computer manipulated many times, and recombined for the various finalizations.
20-25:--Composite 20 images used to create this set.
26-28:--Composite 2 jpegs continuously reorganized many times. Presented here are 3 images selected at random.
34-38:--This image idea is still ongoing. #35 was my first piece exhibited in a show in Anacortes, WA August 2017.
39-42:--Composite 5 jpeg images plus some file layers from set #15-#19 used to construct these images.
43-46:--Still from video. A sampling of digital drawing.
47-49:--2 samples of experimental digital painting. This set is in the making. No final images exist at this time.
50:------"2 Mechanicals". Created from some of my first constructions in August 2016. This piece was exhibited in a show in Coupville, WA August 2017. Composite of 6 jpegs.
51-54:--Abandoned Buildings Project: Composite 5 jpegs. This project is ongoing with about 30 variations completed so far.
55-57: Found this image on the internet. Was fascinated with how it changed drastically as it was computer manipulated.
58-59:--2 of 20 images. Almost 90% pure digital drawing. Umbrella figure is a detail from an internet jpg. #59 arrow is from a figue drawing of mine, 1970 35mm color slide scan to jpg and inserted into this piece.
60-63:--This project in digital drawing is also ongoing. Over 200 individual drawings completed so far. More to come. Fascinating image. Also use as the base for set #34-#38.
64-69:--One image remanipulated as many times as needed as my mind changed while manipulating the parts. Interesting Surrealism!
70-73:--Composite of 3 jpegs. Serioius computer manipulation including digital drawing and digital painting; cropping and cutting parts of original jpeg to recombine to a larger than original image size.
74-76:--Composite of 6 jpegs. Again serioius computer manipulation including; software liquify filters, cropping and cutting parts of original jpg to recombine to a larger than original image size. Heavy digital painting to create heads ala Francis Bacon (one of my faves).
77-85:--A foryay into the world of comic art via appropriation of comic art and fashion pics. For this set a composite of 16 jpegs; lots of cropping and enlarging.
86-87:--From 2013-present over 27,500 screen captures via Earthcam of Time Square NYC. Here are 3 samples straight off camera. Early live Earthcam streams were low resulution. The picture would breakup in very interesting ways. The trick is to screen capture this live stream event.
88:------Composite 3 jpegs. Base is a background image with no figures. The two figures were cropped from 2 separate jpegs and added to the base image.
